Job Description
Radiology/X-Ray Technologist (Permanent Role)
Location: Waco TX 76712
Shift: Variable Shift
Guaranteed Hours: (10 hours/week)
Compensation: Based on experience
- Perform radiologic exams in accordance with departmental protocols and standards.
- Ensure patient safety and comfort throughout procedures.
- Maintain equipment and work areas in a clean and functioning condition.
- Accurately position patients and operate imaging equipment to produce diagnostic-quality images.
- Follow radiation safety guidelines including monitoring and managing patient dose levels.
- Communicate with patients using AIDET (Acknowledge Introduce Duration Explanation Thank You) to establish trust and ensure clarity.
- Explain procedures clearly to patients and assess their ability to tolerate exams.
- Document procedures and maintain patient records per regulatory and facility standards.
- Demonstrate competence in providing imaging services for a wide age range (newborn to geriatric).
- Proficient in performing radiographic procedures efficiently and accurately.
- Strong patient service and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and problem-solve under pressure.
- Skilled in emergency procedures including first aid and use of emergency equipment.
- Commitment to continuing education and professional development.
- Ability to maintain professionalism and compassion in stressful situations.
- Understand and act appropriately if radiation dose reference levels are exceeded.
- Customer-focused with a commitment to minimizing wait times and enhancing satisfaction.
- Required: ARRT (R) - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Radiography
