Job Title: OT/Operation Theatre Nurse
Location: India
Work Mode: On-site
Role Responsibilities:
- Prepare the operating room by ensuring all necessary instruments and equipment are sterile and ready.
- Assist surgeons and medical teams during procedures providing the necessary tools and support.
- Monitor the patients condition before during and after surgery ensuring vital signs are stable.
- Administer medications as prescribed and assist in intravenous therapy.
- Maintain accurate records of patient care and surgical interventions.
- Implement infection control protocols to prevent the spread of pathogens.
- Assist in preparing patients for surgery including positioning and educating them about the procedure.
- Coordinate with pre-operative and post-operative teams for smooth patient transitions.
- Respond to emergency situations with prompt and appropriate actions.
- Educate patients and families on post-operative care and necessary follow-up procedures.
- Participate in continuous training and development programs related to nursing and surgical care.
- Ensure the operating room is clean organized and compliant with safety standards.
- Assist in purchasing and inventory management of surgical supplies.
- Report any equipment malfunctions and assist with maintenance requests.
- Engage in hospital committees and initiatives aimed at improving patient care standards.
Qualifications:
- Registered Nurse (RN) license in India.
- Bachelors degree in Nursing or equivalent.
- Minimum of 2 years experience in an operating theatre setting.
- Strong understanding of surgical procedures and protocols.
- Proficiency in using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Knowledge of aseptic techniques and infection control practices.
- Ability to perform under pressure in emergency situations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Compassionate towards patient care and needs.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Willingness to participate in ongoing education and professional development.
- Attention to detail in documentation and reporting.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts including weekends and holidays.
