Job Description
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assemble more complex fenestration products which includes both standard and custom folding glass walls sliding glass doors terrace doors windows and more
- Utilize high quality glazing techniques and help to teach newer associates proper glazing techniques
- Manufacture high quality panels in a safe manner which meets or exceeds specific efficiency productivity and quality goals
- Visually check parts and/or glass for scratches dings and dents prior to assembly
- Proactively communicate when your jobs are ahead or behind schedule
- Provide feedback as needed to help the team standardize details and assembly drawings
- Follow all necessary procedures for glass handling including proper operation of the overhead crane when needed
- Handle and lift all material carefully both manually and by overhead crane to minimize scratches to material surrounding job carts
- Notify the Lead team member/Supervisor of any issues encountered (missing subcomponents damaged material etc.)
- Provide suggestions for continuous improvement within the department
- Maintain a clean and safe environment
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications :
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be an active Solar Innovations Associate
- 3 Years of experience with carpentry product assembly construction and/or related education (ex. trade school or technical courses)
- Experience reading shop drawings
- Ability to meet and maintain certification requirements to operate overhead cranes
- Ability to safely lift up to 50lbs on a frequent basis
- Ability to complete basic mathematical calculations
- Ability to read a tape measure
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Ideal candidates will have 3 years of related Window and/or Door Assembly experience and be capable of assembling various fenestration products consistently in accordance with quality standards and production metrics.
