Job Description

AECOM is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Lead MEP Inspector to join our team. This role is pivotal in confirming the highest standards of quality safety and compliance in construction projects. The ideal candidate will lead inspection efforts maintain rigorous documentation and collaborate closely with contractors and project teams to uphold project integrity and deliver exceptional results.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Inspect construction contractors workmanship materials and equipment for conformity with project requirements and building codes.
  • Maintain accurate inspection records daily reports and photographic documentation to support project reporting and closeout.
  • Assess MEP submittals shop drawings and change orders for compliance with design intent and project specifications.
  • Maintain a detailed list of defects and omissions confirming corrective actions are implemented and tracked to resolution.
  • Confirm compliance with safety regulations report hazards and support risk mitigation efforts on-site.
  • Conduct labor interviews to verify correct worker classification and wage adherence.
  • Track construction schedules identify delays or deviations and work with project teams to maintain timelines.
  • Verify scheduled tests witness selected tests oversee retesting if required and retain test records.
  • Work closely with contractors engineers and other inspectors to resolve design or installation conflicts.

Qualifications :

Minimum Requirements

  • BA/BS in Architecture Engineering or a related field 2 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
  • 2 years of experience in construction inspection or a related role

Preferred Requirements

  • OSHA 10-hour training
  • Experience with P100 and code compliance requirements
  • Experience in construction contracts building codes and project specifications
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to maintain professionalism in all interactions
  • Proficiency in using project management information systems (PMIS) and documentation tools
  • Experience working in and around historic property
  • Experience working on federal managed construction projects
  • OSHA 30-hour training
  • Experience with large-scale or government construction projects
  • Experience with architectural submittals and shop drawing assessments
  • Proven ability to manage and resolve non-conformances effectively
