Description
This position is responsible for the development and implementation of LSCs Faith Based Recovery Community Organization. The Coordinator will work in the local community building networks relationships and partnerships with churches and religious/faith based organizations.
Essential Functions:
- Build community network of faith-based partners and community resources for the recovery community.
- In partnership with community organizations facilitate training program staff as Certified Peer Support Specialists.
- In collaboration with the Development team develop Sustainability Plans to include fundraising cultivation of community relationships developing a donor database and grant writing.
- Provide for and/or facilitate scholarships and financial assistance for community members seeking paid services establish an application process for individuals seeking financial assistance.
- Establish and document relationships with multiple recovery resources within the broader community.
- Develop or enhance delivery of faith based/faith focused services to inform and/or engage the community in recovery from a substance use disorder
- Provide a spiritual recovery-oriented and wellness-based community space for socializing gathering and practicing multiple pathways to recovery.
- Provide recovery support services delivered by Certified Peer Support Specialists and certified Recovery churches.
- Engage local stakeholders to remove barriers and increase access to recovery support services for persons seeking recovery from substance use disorder.
- Perform other duties and special projects as requested.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelors degree in Social Work Counseling Psychology Addictions or a related Human Services Field.
Experience: 2 or more years of experience with training and development.
Specific skills/abilities: . Experience collecting evaluating and reporting program data. Ability to work independently be self- directed and well organized and meet deadlines.
Specialized knowledge licenses etc: Peer Support Specialist certified or eligible for certification.
Preferences (Optional): (Preferred attributes for the position which are not absolutely required in the minimum qualification - e.g. masters degree bilingual).
- Masters degree in Social Work Counseling Psychology Addictions or a related Human Services field
- Licensed Master Social Worker and/or Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist
- Seven or more years of experience in clinical addiction counseling

- Ability to travel in state (occasional overnight travel may be required).
- Willingness to work with recovery community.
- Public speaking in groups communities facilities offices or events.
- Ability to carry up to 15 lbs (presentation equipment)
