POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Patient Access Representative/Care Coordinator plays a vital role in ensuring a seamless patient experience by coordinating administrative and clinical support services. This includes front-end patient access functions such as scheduling registration and check-in as well as downstream care coordination activities like surgery scheduling insurance verification and obtaining prior authorizations. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented compassionate and thrives in a fast-paced patient-focused environment. Reports to Cardiology Supervisor and Director of Cardiology.
EDUCATION:
- High school diploma or equivalent
EXPERIENCE:
- At least one (1) year of medical experience required
LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS:
- BLS preferred
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
- Customer service and the use of multi-line phone system.
- Must have some knowledge of medical terminology.
- Ability to multitask problem solve and provide outstanding customer service.
- Must be knowledgeable of Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Typing skills required.
- Strong math skills required.
- Use of usual and customary equipment used to perform essential functions of the position.
