*This is a remote position where you will meet with North Texas/Oklahoma donors in person by phone and video.
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
The Gift Planning Unit at the American Red Cross seeks to secure planned gifts supporting any component of the organizations mission and to establish the Red Cross as the charity of choice for such gifts.
Reporting to the Director of Gift Planning the Gift Planning Officer (based in Dallas or Fort Worth preferred) develops designs and implements the planned giving program for the North Texas/Oklahoma Regions of the American Red Cross (with Community Chapters currently located in Dallas Fort Worth Lubbock Tyler Wichita Falls Abilene Amarillo Oklahoma City Stillwater Shawnee and Tulsa) focusing on new gift commitments for the organization. This role includes identifying qualifying cultivating soliciting and stewarding gift planning prospects and donors in the Regions. The Gift Planning Officer will be responsible for developing strategies to increase funding capacity and maximize donor relationships.

Scope: Individual contributor that is fully proficient in applying subject matter knowledge. Knowledge based acquired from several years of experience in particular area. Work independently and may instruct or coach other professionals.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED:
A Bachelors degree in philanthropy studies nonprofit management law finance insurance trust services real estate or other related field required. Certification in one or more of the following areas is preferred: CFRE CFP CAP J.D. LLM
* Combination of candidates education and general experience satisfies requirements so long as the total years equate to descriptions minimum education and general experience years combined (Management experience cannot be substituted).

Physical Requirements:
Physical requirements are those present in normal office environment conditions. Operational flexibility is required to meet sudden and unpredictable needs. Ability to use a personal computer applicable software and office equipment for sustained periods of time. May include sitting for long periods of time driving a vehicle and working under challenging conditions.
