Job Description

Classification Title:

Assistant Director Health Care Administration

Job Description:

The UF College of Medicine Jacksonville (UFCOM-J) Center for Convening Transformative Care will help enhance personalized patient care increase patient safety foster population health data research and grant procurement and strengthen local and state partnerships that will lead to more sustainable population health interventions. This grant funded position is responsible for the development implementation and management of care transformation performance improvement programs for the UFCOM-J and UF Health enterprise in Jacksonville. This position utilizes a systematic approach to analyzing organizational performance data thereby helping to continuously improve processes and outcomes targeting social determinants of health for vulnerable populations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Supports the work of the healthcare team through data analytics and population health factors to identify opportunities to enhance care delivery and to discover which practices are most effective to improve patient outcomes.

Translates data-driven results to enhance personalized care for patients.

Creates an environment to connect education and patient care programs to the community and the social factors of health that impact patient outcomes.

Provides students and trainees with the tools and skills that will ultimately increase patient safety maximize efficiencies and improve the overall quality of care for the community.

Fosters population-health research that translates to publications and grant procurement in order to create sustainable programs for achieving positive health outcomes.

Partners and collaborates with state/local agencies (COJ AHCA DCF etc) to improve the health and welfare of identified at-risk patient populations.

Collaborates with a variety of stakeholders across the enterprise including senior leaders physicians nurses pharmacists and other members of the healthcare team.

Expected Salary:

$120000

Minimum Requirements:

Masters degree in appropriate area of specialization and four years of appropriate experience or a bachelors degree in appropriate areas of specialization and six years of experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Masters or other advanced degree (e.g. MPH MHA PHD DNP). Clinical discipline for example medicine nursing pharmacy or a non-clinical healthcare discipline such as public health or health care administration. A bachelors degree in one of these areas may be considered with at least six years of relevant experience in health care or quality/performance improvement programs.

Change management skills - ability to analyze the current state and develop a case for change; ability to communicate the case for change and the plan for change; ability to elicit support from key stakeholders and achieve objectives; ability to evaluate the plans effectiveness and develop alternative solutions; Ability to apply concepts and principles of change management.

Leadership skills - ability to lead and motivate multidisciplinary cross-functional teams; ability to structure format and lead small and large group working sessions to achieve objectives; ability to directly and indirectly mentor coach and train staff; ability to keep projects on track and moving towards a goal;

Technical skills - expert user of computer systems such as: MS Project Excel Visio Word PowerPoint Outlook

Analytical skills - ability to analyze problems; strong knowledge of statistical techniques in solving problems

Communication skills - excels in intercommunications and interactions; ensures that communication lines are kept open; effectively communicates goals and interplay of ideas and concepts; Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing including conveying technical/clinical information to both technical/clinical and non-technical/non-clinical team members

Interpersonal skills - establishes credibility; promotes participative approaches; establishes effective working relationships; ability to function effectively as part of a team
