The Environmental Charter School is seeking a highly dedicated and motivated Primary School Teacher for our school. Successful candidates must be progressive minded and embody a can-do spirit and work ethic. OVERVIEW
The ECS Primary School Teacher is the first person to introduce students to the world of education. They open doors that some children didnt even know existed. The ECS teacher observes student behavior to determine their specific interests abilities and needs - and develops a playful program that will extend this further into new learning areas. The Primary School Teacher encourages students to take risks with their learning to discover knowledge for themselves and create an understanding of the world around them. A successful ECS teacher recognizes teachable moments and involves students in meaningful problem-solving playful experiences planning and learning. ECS Primary School teachers are expected to help students to investigate a topic that intrigues them support children as they make friends and play alongside other children and develop students confidence. Finally it is the responsibility of the teacher to provide a playful and thoughtful quality indoor and outdoor environment that allows them to explore the world they live in. The ECS Primary School Teacher is also responsible for weaving culturally responsive pedagogy throughout all aspects of the day. The ECS Primary School Teacher works collaboratively within a team of early childhood-focused educators and has a deep commitment to this magical time in human development

Key Responsibilities
- Work with the Environmental Charter Schools scope and sequence to create purposeful and appropriate lesson plans that employ a variety of teaching strategies and provide meaningful instruction to early childhood learners
- Design a classroom environment that is play-based and curiosity-inspired. Experience and attention to play materials art materials and regularly updated spaces to invite new experiences are required for this role
- Collaborate with colleagues and the schools instructional leaders to regularly evaluate and improve curricular maps and materials that guide the kindergarten student experience at ECS
- Implement with fidelity a developmentally-responsive school-wide behavior management system and bullying prevention program
Educational Background and Work Experience
- Bachelors degree from an accredited institution
- PA certification in Elementary Education
- Minimum of 3 years teaching experience including Math instruction preferred
- Experience with working with 4-7 year olds strongly preferred
- Familiarity with charter schools
- Experience in designing and implementing curriculum for early childhood developmental stage strongly preferred
Compensation and Benefits
- Minimum starting salary of $44716 up to a maximum starting salary of $51056 dependent upon prior years teaching experience.
