Coordinator Strategic Projects Parks and Open Spaces

Temporary - Full Time Position (Flexible) Parental Leave Cover (August 2025 to September 2026)

Band 8 - starting at $122746.59 per annum depending on experience Super RDO (RDO applicable for 38 hours per week only)

The City of Yarras City Works Branch has an exciting opportunity to lead the strategic projects parks and open spaces team for a 13-month parental leave tenure.

The Coordinator Strategic Projects Parks and Open Spaces oversees the open space urban design and streetscape planning design and construction delivery functions. As a leader within the City Works branch the coordinator will motivate and support a team of internal professionals to foster a positive team culture that takes pride in delivering the highest standards of project management.

In this an exciting and multi-faceted role no two days are the every the same and will involve a wide variety of tasks from steering problem solving report writing representing the team at Council workshops and meetings and forward planning.

This dynamic role is best suited to a candidate that thrives working at speed can balance multiple competing priorities and can drive the achievement of outcomes through carefully executed project delivery. The successful candidate will have highly developed communication skills with the ability to communicate complex issues and ideas to a variety of audiences in a busy complex and political environment.

Qualifications and experience in leadership project management business management public sector administration or strategy development will help you succeed in the role.

The role may be well suited to an ambitious open space professional looking to take their next career step or a secondment opportunity from another public sector organisation seeking to build on their experience in Yarras urban inner-city environment.

The successful candidate will be well supported with a one-month handover period and ongoing supportive leadership.
