Job Description
Position Criteria:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience with translating and interpreting.
- Must be bilingual
Performance Criteria:
- Translate materials to and from English.
- Interpret conversations to and from English.
- Interest and ability to work effectively with students who are learning English.
- Understanding of English language development.
- Knowledge of evidence-based instructional strategies for English Learners and proven record of successful implementation.
- Provide ongoing support to classroom teachers as they implement instruction to English Language Learners in their classroom.
- Collaborate with ESOL teachers multiple grade levels and teams in order to meet student needs.
- Administer grade level assessments from general education classrooms as needed.
- Knowledge of different cultures and ability to share that knowledge with students and staff.
- Work effectively with parents students and staff.
- Support families as they acclimate to the school system.
- Effective behavior management skills.
- Follow directions and work without close supervision.
- Maintain accurate student records with confidentiality as directed.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Use technology as needed
