Location: Richmond VA
Clearance: Eligible for Common Access Card (CAC)

Overview:

Join a mission-critical team supporting the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Aviation Forging and Casting Assistance Team (AFCAT). As a Casting & Forging Engineer you will analyze technical data identify casting/forging (C/F) requirements and enhance procurement efficiency for critical defense components.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze National Item Identification Numbers (NIINs) to determine casting/forging requirements.
  • Review technical data packages specifications and drawings.
  • Update and maintain the DECAF database and VESTARS system.
  • Respond to assistance requests related to tooling supply and production issues.
  • Participate in process improvement meetings and implement feedback.
  • Coordinate with DLA engineers and stakeholders to improve C/F identification success rates.
  • Prepare monthly reports and presentations on performance metrics.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Metallurgical or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experience with aerospace material specifications or industrial manufacturing preferred.
  • Familiarity with systems such as JEDMICS WebFLIS MEDALS and DECAF is a plus.
  • Strong analytical organizational and communication skills.
