Salary:24309.07 per annum plus an opportunity to earn an additional 4200 per annum based on an average of 7 sleep-ins per month

Contract/Hours:Permanent Full-time 37 hours per week (on a rota basis working days evenings waking nights and weekends)

Our Residential Support Worker is an entry level role where you dont need previous experience or qualifications were looking for a positive attitude and the desire to give the best care to children and young people. About the service

Our Tan Y Bryn Residential Service (winner of the 2022 Stephenson Award for Service of the Year) in Rhyl is a five-bedded therapeutic residential home for children and young people between the ages of 7-17 years.

We provide support for young people who are likely to have experienced early childhood trauma. You would be a part of a dynamic team to support and encourage our young people to reach their full potential. Some young people may experience low self-esteem anxiety depression and have poor communication skills which can lead to disruptive behaviours and a positive compassionate attitude is paramount.

How youll help to create brighter futures

Youll be engaging in enjoyable activities both within the project and within the community. Youll be assuming responsibility for the personal care and daily routines of the young individuals providing support with personal hygiene communication administering of medication and ensuring the safeguarding of our young people by accurate recording and reporting.

Lets talk about you

Dont worry if youve never worked in a similar role before its your personality and personal values that matter. If youre passionate about creating brighter futures this could be the perfect role for you.

Ideally youll:

• Understand how to engage with young people.
• Have a positive approach and can do attitude.
• Ability to work on your own or as part of a team.
• Be ready to complete a level 3 in Health and Social Care within 2 years of commencing employment with us fully funded by us.

80% of care homes in Wales are run by the private aim is to ensure that public money invested in the care of children looked after does not profit individuals or corporate entities but is wholly spent on childrens services to deliver better experiences and outcomes for children and young people supporting service development and improvement and further professional development for staff.

By 2027 they aim to have the care of children who are looked after in Wales to be provided by the public Sector and charitable or non-profile organisations.
