Job Summary:

As a Sales Support Engineer you will provide technical and commercial sales support for Caterpillar Switchgear products. This includes assisting Outside Sales personnel and dealers with product application and quotation support. Work on a team with other Sales Support Engineers who perform the same role for their assigned regions. The incumbent manages the completion of work assignments and coordinates closely with Outside Sales to support the dealers.

What youll do:

• Recognize which products should be offered based on the customers request for quote

• Review Customer Drawings and Specifications and provide clarifications exceptions and deviations as required with bids

• Use design configurators to build conceptual switchgear layouts to feed the costing tool

• Use costing tools to provide costing for custom applications.

• Develop Sales Proposals

• As quotes become orders create the Order Entry tasks necessary to facilitate the transfer of the project to the project execution teams

What You Have:

• Products and Services: Working knowledge of major products and services and product and service groups; ability to apply knowledge of product and service appropriately to diverse situations.

• Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Basic understanding and knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.

• Effective Communications: Basic understanding of effective communication concepts tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit receive and accurately interpret ideas information and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.

• Technical Excellence: Working knowledge of a given technology and various application methods; ability to develop and provide solutions to significant technical challenges. Experience or understanding around the electrical industry power generation and / or distribution necessary.

Additional Information:

• Location of this position is Alpharetta GA and does not offer relocation assistance

• This position requires 5-day-a-week in office availability

• 10% or less travel expected

Summary Pay Range:
