Job Description

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Using dynamic teaching techniques instruct Cadets in the JROTC curriculum to include but not limited to: Leadership Theory and Application; Foundations for Success in Life; Health and Wellness; Geography Map Skills and Environmental Awareness; and Citizenship in American History and Government. Assist the Senior Army Instructor (SAI) with all administrative and management aspects of the program IAW USACC Regulation 145-2. Provide short and long term planning and Cadet Mentorship in extra-curricular activities to include but not limited to: Community Outreach Service Learning Drill and Ceremony Leadership Labs and Color Guards. Performs extra duties as assigned by school administrators.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Non-commissioned officer must be retired from the Army in the grades of E-6 through E-9. Must meet all United States Army Cadet Command (USACC) requisites for employment to include a favorable Child Care National Agency Check and Inquiries (CNACI) investigation. Must be able to achieve and maintain instructor certification through USACC.

While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently required to sit and walk or stand. The employee is required to talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. The position requires meeting deadlines with time constraints and interacting with students parents and staff.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job the employee must be able to meet multiple demands from several people.

POSITION IN TOTAL ORGANIZATION:

The JROTC Army Instructor is under the direct supervision of the Senior JROTC Instructor and building Administrators.

WORK/SALARY:

The work year salary and benefits have been established by The Cranston School Committee and The Cranston Teachers Alliance.
