Role and Responsibilities: Planning and Preparation:-Maintain daily classroom design and schedule -Implement Core Knowledge ELA and Envisions Math -Tailor lesson plans to individual learners and make adjustments based on formative assessment results -Establish explicit content language and socio-emotional objectives for each lesson-Collaborate with co-teacher and team colleagues in planning Classroom Environment: -Establish and monitor strong classroom routines and procedures for smooth operation within the classroom-Utilize Positive Behavior Interventions within the classroom to support students-Arrange for small group learning stations to address a variety of learning styles-Incorporate Zones of Regulation (SEL Curriculum) into classroom culture-Present a warm and energetic personalityEngaging Students in Learning:-Plan and ask rigorous questions using the Depth of Knowledge Chart -Use SEI strategies to support students language acquisition -Intentionally plan for student collaboration and opportunities for dialogue-Utilize data to create targeted intervention groups Professional Practice: -Attend and participate in weekly professional learning communities and team time as well as individual coaching-Possess a growth mindset when it comes to engaging with relevant and mission-driven professional learning-Maintain and update gradebook-Attend and conduct parent-teacher conferences each school year (one in Fall and one in Spring)-Participate in IEP 504 and RtII meetings when necessary-Participate in Family Engagement events/outreach-Partner with families to develop strong home-to-school connections-Participate in Science of Reading professional development -Participate in assigned morning lunch/recess and afternoon duties-Support enforce and adhere to all school policies and procedures-Perform additional duties stated by grade and department-level leaders and the Leadership TeamAdditional Requirements:Massachusetts Teacher Certification in appropriate area Proficient in English Bilingual Candidates Highly Valued
