Job Description
- Collaborate with families educators and service providers.
- Conduct functional vision and learning media assessments.
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs).
- Adapt curriculum materials and ensure accessibility for all students.
- Monitor student progress and maintain compliance with special education requirements.
- Deliver direct instruction in Braille assistive technology and orientation & mobility (if certified).
Requirements
- Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with endorsement in Visual Impairments.
- Experience working with students with varying levels of vision loss and additional needs.
- Knowledge of assistive technologies Braille large print and accessible instructional design.
- Bachelor s degree in Visual Impairments or Special Education required; Master s degree preferred!
