Head Coach - BoysVarsity Baseball

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A minimum of three years successful experience as a head coach ofbaseballin college or high school OR at least five years of successful experience as an assistant soccerbaseball in college or high school.
  • Evidence of having participated in a varsity baseball program in high school college or any other higher level of education.
  • Knowledge of care use and selection of equipment
  • Successful completion of a CORI and SAFIS background check.
  • Successful completion of MIAA coachs course.
  • CPR and First Aid instructor experience desired.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Monitor academic climate of all players check grades and credits regarding eligibility and quarterly progress during the school year. Maintain discipline among teammates.
  • Adhere to the Code of Conduct for Coaches established by the Lynn School Committee.
  • Work closely with guidance department regarding colleges that are of interest to team members. Establish relationships with college coaches and preparatory school representatives.
  • Responsible for organizational matters for the program such as maintaining close communications with the Principal and/or Athletic Director community involvement with boosters or varsity clubs for example meeting with parents and alumni etc.
  • Evaluate assistant coaches on a seasonal basis and report findings to the Principal.
  • Recommend selection of assistant coaches to the Principaland/or Athletic Director for final confirmation by the Superintendent based on a posting screening interview and selection process.
  • Attend clinics conferences and other meetings on a state and league level. Participate in theGreater Boston League. Stay informed about changes in rules and regulations in MIAA and GBL.
  • Complete periodic inventory of all useable equipment. Prepare annual budget report for equipment supplies etc.
  • Administer injury claim forms and follow up on progress of all injured players.
  • Confer with the principal and/or Athletic Director on schedules for non-league games and pre-season scrimmages.
  • Responsible for school facilities including locker rooms and field houses. Check all areas (game facilities) after everyone else has left premises.

REPORTS TO: Principal/Athletic Director

An offer of employment is contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment physical including a drug test National fingerprint-based Criminal Background Check (NCBC) and Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI).

AllMUSTbe completedPRIORto the start of employment.
