Job Description

Electrician Workshop - Bayswater WA

Perth based Electrician required for an immediate start on the day shift (6:30am - 2:30pm) in a mining components manufacturing workshop.

We are looking for a skilled and reliable Electrician to join the workshop team in Bayswater. This position will involve 60% machine maintenance and 40% facility maintenance. The ideal candidate will have experience in electrical maintenance particularly in machinery such as CNC machines rollers presses and welding machines. However if you come from a different environment but have a strong understanding of reliability and maintenance principles this will also be considered.

Key Responsibilities

  • Machine Maintenance: Perform electrical maintenance and repairs on machinery including CNC machines rollers presses and welding machines to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime.

  • Facility Systems: Oversee electrical systems for workshop lighting power distribution HVAC and general infrastructure to ensure the facility operates smoothly and efficiently.

  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve electrical issues in both machinery and facility systems ensuring safety standards and operational efficiency.

  • Preventative Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections maintenance and testing of equipment and facility systems to prevent breakdowns and ensure ongoing compliance with safety and operational standards.

  • Safety Compliance: Ensure all electrical work complies with relevant safety regulations and industry standards particularly in relation to mining operations.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with the maintenance team to identify areas for improvement in both equipment reliability and facility performance.

  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of all maintenance work repairs and equipment status including any updates or improvements made to facility systems.

  • Upgrades: Support upgrades and modifications to the electrical infrastructure of the workshop including lighting power systems and machinery.

Requirements

  • WA-licensed Electrician (unrestricted).

  • Previous experience in industrial or manufacturing electrical maintenance preferably a manufacturing workshop environment.

  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems machinery (e.g. CNC machines rollers presses welding machines) and facility systems.

  • Experience with troubleshooting and maintaining complex machinery in a workshop environment.

  • Strong understanding of safety standards and commitment to compliance.

  • Willingness to work occasional overtime and weekends as required.
