Job Description
Job Title: Medical Technologist / Clinical Laboratory Scientist
Location: Palo Alto CA
Duration: 1826 Days (Approx. 5 Years)
Hours: 8 Hours/Day 5 Days/Week
Status: Full-Time
We are seeking an experienced Medical Technologist (MT) / Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) to perform comprehensive laboratory testing services supporting patient diagnosis and treatment. This role operates as a Generalist covering multiple disciplines including Chemistry Hematology Coagulation Blood Bank Immunology Urinalysis and Microbiology (preferred).

Shift Details:
-
Seven rotating 8-hour shifts available
-
Schedules provided 2 4 weeks in advance (subject to change based on patient care needs)

No on-call holiday or overtime requirements

Perform laboratory testing across Chemistry Hematology Coagulation Blood Bank Immunology Urinalysis and Microbiology (preferred)

Process and analyze specimens ensuring accurate and timely reporting

Calibrate laboratory instruments and conduct quality control checks
-
Troubleshoot instrumentation and initiate corrective actions
-
Comply with VA CAP AABB FDA and Joint Commission standards

Document and communicate critical results according to policy

Participate in proficiency testing competency evaluations and QA/QI programs

Bachelors Degree in Medical Laboratory Science Medical Technology Clinical Laboratory Science or related field

Certification: MT MLS or CLS (ASCP or AMT)

Minimum 1 year of Generalist experience as a Medical Technologist

Microbiology experience preferred
-
Must meet VA credentialing requirements including immunizations and a negative TB test

Fluent in English (verbal and written)
