Remote U.S. based Full-Time Contract
Shape the Future of Geospatial Intelligence for Utilities
We re on the lookout for a forward-thinking GIS Architect to lead the design and delivery of next-gen GIS platforms that improve how utility organizations map manage and modernize critical infrastructure. This role is perfect for someone with deep Esri platform expertise and hands-on experience deploying Utility Network and UPDM solutions in enterprise environments.
As a key player on our team you ll influence architecture decisions guide mobility and cloud strategies and bring together GIS with other essential enterprise tools like SAP and field ops platforms.
Key Responsibilities
Architect and implement solutions using ArcGIS Enterprise ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online
Develop scalable user-centered GIS systems aligned with Utility Network and UPDM models
Deliver secure cloud-hosted GIS solutions (Azure or AWS) including HA and DR configurations
Integrate GIS with platforms like SAP asset management systems and mobile field tools
Create field-ready mobile GIS workflows using Esri Field Maps and offline data syncing
Document architecture create system diagrams and build long-term platform roadmaps
Champion data integrity versioning and lifecycle management across spatial data ecosystems
Core Qualifications
10 years of experience in GIS system design and enterprise solution architecture
Deep proficiency in Esri tools: ArcGIS Enterprise AGOL Pro Field Maps Web AppBuilder/Experience Builder
Direct experience implementing Utility Network and working with UPDM
Background in geodatabase design and advanced spatial modeling
Experience deploying GIS in cloud environments (Azure or AWS)
Familiarity with API integration scripting and web services
Prior work integrating GIS with enterprise systems like SAP is a plus
Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and operational teams

What We're Looking For: . Minimum of 5 years of experience working with ESRI ArcGIS Software Suite, including Enterprise, Desktop, Server, Portal, Pro, and Online. Proven experience in the electric or gas utilities sector. Proficiency in programming languages such as C#, Java, Python, and SQL. Experience with ArcGIS Runtime SDK, ArcGIS API for JavaScript and Python, ArcObjects, ArcPy, Arcade, REST, JSON, GeoJSON, WC, Web API, RDF, HTML, CSS, XML, and Visual Studio. Strong understanding of relational databases and enterprise GIS solutions. Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and project management skills. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Bonus: Experience presenting workshops or training sessions on GIS technology within the utilities sector.

Bachelor s degree in Geography, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Computer Science, or a related field
