Job Description

Role Overview:

We are looking for an experienced Commercial Hood and Ventilation Technician to install service and maintain exhaust systems in restaurant kitchens. This role is ideal for independent contractors with a strong background in ventilation fire suppression readiness and NFPA code compliance.

Responsibilities:
  • Install maintain and repair commercial kitchen hood systems including exhaust fans and make-up air units.
  • Clean duct work hood filters and fans to meet fire safety and health code standards.
  • Troubleshoot issues with motors fans switches and air balancing systems.
  • Perform inspections and identify any fire code violations or equipment inefficiencies.
  • Provide detailed documentation of all service and maintenance work.
  • Communicate clearly with restaurant owners or managers regarding repairs and maintenance.


Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience working with commercial hood and ventilation systems.
  • Independent contractor with valid general liability insurance and or business license.
  • Must own a reliable work truck or van and carry all necessary tools and cleaning equipment.
  • Comfortable working at heights or in confined ceiling spaces.
  • Ability to read mechanical drawings and ventilation plans.
  • Strong attention to detail and safety-focused work ethic.
  • Willing to provide contractor details to the client for coordination

Preferred Qualifications:
  • OSHA certification
  • Experience with tenant improvement projects
