Job Description

Area Resources are responsible for organizing and planning maintenance operator scheduling and the process changes of a highly automated state of the art system that produces distinctive high quality ingredients and solutions to the food beverage and other industries. Reporting to the Area Manager this position works closely with other plant maintenance personnel contractors and process technicians.

Main Accountabilities

Key Results and Specific Accountabilities

Safety:

  • Execute Gensuite Actions and perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
  • Enter Gensuite items when appropriate
  • Manage Monthly Departmental Safety Meetings
  • Perform Monthly Safety audits
  • Train/qualify new employees with expectations
  • Plans for proper permitting needs and issues permits when needed

Quality:

  • Create GMP cleaning lists and RCA on repeat issues
  • Establish process targets for quality specs and create plans to execute
  • Establish direction/training for meeting quality targets
  • Dig into product quality daily
  • Creates and maintains Non-GMO procedures

Maintenance:

  • Writes work notifications
  • Holds role of OMC for maintenance planning and scheduling
  • Assists in RCA for failures

Operations:

  • Provides back-up direction to PC & Area Manager
  • Establish targets for process and production rates
  • Compare daily production rates against targets and provide direction
  • Identify health of the process and know what needs to improve
  • Schedule and plan for Operations PMs: parts resources schedule
  • Help RCA process %OST
  • Schedule operators and overtime with a purpose
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting
  • Plan and communicate production trials
  • Be present in the processing areas daily

Competencies Skills and experience required

Graphic Literacy-Workplace graphics such as tables graphs charts digital dashboards flow charts timelines forms maps and blueprints. Employees use this skill when they find summarize compare and analyze information to make decisions using workplace graphics to solve work-related problems.

Teamwork is the skill people use for choosing behaviors and actions that both lead toward the accomplishment of work tasks and support the relationships between team members. A team is defined as any workplace group with a common goal and ownership of shared responsibility in achieving that goal.

Workplace Observation is the skill employees use in visually observing a workplace event noticing details and remembering instructions procedures processes and demonstrations in order to generalize to workplace situations that may be similar or very different from what was observed.

Applied Technology is the skill of working with machines and equipment means understanding how best to use them to solve problems The applied technology requires basic principles in four areas of technology electricity mechanics fluid dynamics and thermodynamics. With a focus on reasoning not math solve problems without calculations or formulas.

Skills and experiences required

Required skills and experience:

  • Minimum of a high school diploma or the equivalent
  • Basic computer proficiency including Microsoft Office and Outlook e-mail
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively-written and verbal comprehension
  • 5 years industrial maintenance experience

Physical Requirements

This position requires the ability to safely perform the following tasks:

  • Ability to lift equipment and tools up to 50 pounds without mechanical assistance
  • Use of hand tools above shoulders under ergonomically stressful conditions and under application of heavy force by employee
  • Work in elevated positions with hand tools and fall restraint equipment
  • Ability to wear personnel protective equipment (PPE)
  • Must be able to pass pulmonary test that is required prior to wearing breathing air mask
  • Ability to perform work in confined spaces while wearing breathing PPE
  • Ability to climb stairs and ladders (fixed/portable) with tools when safe to do so.
  • Ability to work from heights and in cold and hot environments.
  • Climb a vertical ladder up to 15ft
  • Climb several flights of stairs several times a shift
  • Stand for prolonged periods of time
  • Bending and twisting motion at the waist and knees
  • Ability to work a rotating shift schedule with flexibility to work alternate schedules as needed.
