Job Summary:
The Medical Laboratory Technician or Medical Technologist will perform laboratory testing following written policies and procedures ensuring quality laboratory practices in compliance with regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct chemical analyses of body fluids such as blood and urine using microscope and automatic analyzers to detect abnormalities or diseases and enter findings into computer.
- Perform calibrations and quality control accurately and efficiently as required. Able to evaluate calibrations and quality control results to determine the accuracy of patient results.
- Performs and reports on assigned analytical tests in a timely efficient and accurate manner in compliance with documented laboratory procedures.
- Recognizes factors that affect measurements and results.
- Notifies supervisor and takes appropriate action when needed according to predetermined protocols.
- Performs quality control measures for all testing and ensures results meet established ranges before patient results are released.
- Examine cells stained with dye to locate abnormalities.
- Prepare reconstitute and/or dilute reagents controls or patient specimens correctly for analysis.
- Obtain specimens cultivating isolating and identifying microorganisms for analysis.
- Follow CLIA and OSHA regulations at all times.
- Maintains a strict level of patient confidentiality.
- Performs phlebotomy skillfully utilizing proper laboratory procedures as outlined by CLSI within minimal discomfort to the patient.
- Labels and stores blood/body fluids appropriately for subsequent processing.
Health Requirements:
All employees are required to provide proof of vaccination for Flu Hepatitis B and Tuberculosis (TB) as part of our commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy workplace.

Required Qualifications:
- Associates Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or a Bachelors Degree in Medical Technology.
- ASCP Certification.
- One year work experience required in the healthcare industry.
