The Manufacturing Engineer will drive improvements in existing manufacturing practices bring new production equipment online and facilitate the production of new and current prosthetic devices. This role ensures that manufacturing processes meet quality cost and productivity goals collaborates with the R&D Engineering team to transition designs into production work in parallel with the production team and report KPIs directly to management. Responsible for advancing manufacturing efficiency and maturity.
Responsibilities:
Serve as a bridge between design engineering and production to ensure engineering intent is conveyed and delivered. Manufacturing process qualification and validation
Develop budgets propose solutions to manufacturing challenges and ensure work is completed within budget and on schedule.
Evaluate and improve manufacturing methods by understanding current capabilities and planning for growth in a built-to-order environment.
Collaborate with production to ensure processes and methods are documented by maintaining manufacturing documentation including work instructions CAD models and technical drawings.
Design implement & execute systems to monitor the performance of processes and equipment.
Lead the transition of new products to manufacturability and production maturity collaborating closely with design engineers to apply Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles to both new and existing products.
Coordinate with supply chain team to onboard qualify and audit vendors/suppliers as needed to meet production objectives.
Report KPIs to management. Be responsible for driving production to business goals with COGs personnel efficiency and documentation maturity.
Identify and implement process control points within the manufacturing workflow; define testing requirements and procedures and develop and maintain robust statistical control systems to ensure consistent product quality.

Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering or similar is required.
3-5 years of experience in manufacturing/fabrication or product development environment.
Strong technical writing and communication skills.
Experience in subtractive (CNC) injection molding & additive (3D printing) manufacturing. Preference for experience with MJF technology.
Experience with production documentation packages and/or technical documentation.
CAD experience preferred (SolidWorks Inventor Fusion360 HomeWorks)
Working knowledge of FDA Class I medical device regulations & ISO 13485 quality system preferred
Experience bringing up new production assembly lines in a built-to-order manufacturing environment preferred

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $66717 - $82406 benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role level and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries. Within the range individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors including job-related skills experience and relevant education or training.
