The Head Spirit Squad Coach will coordinate all aspects of the Cheerleading and Southern Gold Dance Programs.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
Recruit and assess talent of prospective student-athletes.
Coordinates team travel and equipment inventory.
Effectively instruct cheerleaders on aspects of choreography techniques and lifts.
Effectively instructs dancers on aspects of choreography and techniques.
Demonstrate fiscal accountability through budget management and fundraising.
Develop and maintain quality relationships within the community both on and off-campus.
Be present at all team practice home football and basketball athletic events and any National or Regional competitions.
Communicates effectively as needed on issues with student-athletes. These issues include but are not limited to: travel injuries budget equipment administrative tasks and responsibilities.
Responsible for hiring and training the Assistant Spirit Squad Coach.
Perform other related duties as required.
Education Experience and Licenses
Bachelors degree from an accredited four-year college or university required.
Successful coaching competitive cheer/dance or teaching experience required. Collegiate experience preferred.
Work-related skill knowledge or experience is required; or any combination of education and experience.
CPR/AED or ability to be certified
Knowledge of USA Cheer rules and regulations required.
Certification in USA Cheer rules and regulations course completed within 90 days of hire.
