The ICLA Project Coordinator will manage the ICLA project in Northern Ukraine overseeing the team and activities in the Chernihiv and Shostka offices. They will focus on implementation plans team capacity building skill transfer and improving ICLA services ensuring legal assistance and training are delivered in line with NRC strategies and standards.
ResponsibilitiesGeneric responsibilities:
- Adherence to NRC policies guidance and procedures.
- Contribute to ICLA strategy development and project proposal drafting and provide input on needs and gaps.
- Coordinate manage and implement the portfolio of ICLA projects (activities budget and project documentation) as delegated by the ICLA Project Manager in line with proposals strategies and donor requirements and ensure high technical quality.
- Support the implementation of project cycle management activities according to the NRC framework.
- Oversee the provision of legal services to NRC beneficiaries in the relevant area.
- Ensure that projects target beneficiaries most in need of legal protection explore and assess new and better ways to assist.
- Promote and share ideas for improvement and necessary changes in the activities.
- Supervise the ICLA team located in the Chernihiv and Shostka offices ensure their capacity building and transfer key skills.
- Contribute to protection needs and trends identification.
- Liaise and collaborate with relevant local authorities and other key stakeholders.
Specific responsibilities:
- Identify suitable locations for ICLA outreach and activities in coordination with the team.
- Lead coordination efforts with key stakeholders for ICLA activities in the area of operation.
- Manage and support the ICLA team ensuring effective implementation and field visit planning.
- Monitor the quality of ICLA services and address any issues.
- Conduct field visits to assess needs and identify implementation challenges.
- Monitor and document concerns during legal case management.
- Track project performance and progress using the ICLA database and monitoring tools.
- Assist in developing reporting templates and contribute to the creation of SOPs checklists and tools.
- Provide timely and accurate reports on implementation both quantitative and qualitative.
- Support proposal writing report drafting and budget preparation as needed.
- Conduct technical assessments and offer recommendations.
- Coordinate with other NRC programs to ensure integrated interventions.
- Share technical analysis lessons learned and reports to support organizational learning.
- Organize and facilitate trainings workshops and other events.
- Ensure efficient use of internal and external referral systems.
- Provide regular progress updates and maintain proper document filing.
- Perform other tasks as requested by management.
QualificationsProfessional competencies:
- Minimum 2 years of relevant job experience in a similar role preferably within the humanitarian sector
- Documented results related to the positions responsibilities
- Proven experience in coordinating activities and liaising with external actors
- Previous experience from working in complex and volatile contexts
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word Excel and PowerPoint
- Proficient in English at an upper-intermediate level both written and spoken.
Context related skills knowledge and experience:
- Masters degree in law
- Knowledge of legal frameworks for displaced persons and international human rights law
- In depth knowledge of the context in Ukraine
- Fluency in Ukrainian and Russian language
- Experience with start-up of legal protection programmes is an asset
