Metro State University a member of the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities System is seeking to hire a Nurse Educator to advise assist and supervise students who need help with designated nursing skills dosage calculations and to reinforce learning through the varied nursing programs. Further the position will ensure coordination of supplies setups and equipment needed for laboratory and simulation instruction are available and ready the nursing laboratory for faculty instruction and student learning. This is a fixed-term position within the Department of Nursing and will start on August 18 2025.
Position Highlights
We are seeking a nurse educator to be responsible for the organization and maintenance of the nursing laboratory for students to practice and acquire the necessary knowledge psychomotor skills and professional identity for becoming a registered nurse with assistance also provided to the Doctor of Nursing practice students as needed. The position will coordinate all resources including space time and equipment/supplies for the nursing lab. Purchasing and providing maintenance for all appropriate equipment/supplies; collaborating with faculty on skill development remediation simulation and implementation; orienting students and/or faculty to nursing technologies (including high fidelity/virtual reality simulation); evaluating and remediating student performance. This position maintains a focus on collaboration and teamwork.

Salary Range:
Salary is commensurate with education and experience and is determined by the salary placement process as outlined in the Inter Faculty Organization (IFO) Master Agreement.

College of Nursing and Health Sciences Department of Nursing
As part of the College of Nursing and Health Sciences the Department of Nursing is committed to academic and scholarly excellence community partnerships and to providing a variety of undergraduate and graduate programs that lead to the building of lifelong careers and professionalism within the nursing field. The Nursing Department offers RN-BSN Prelicensure Bachelor of Science in Nursing (PBSN) Entry Level Master of Science in Nursing (ELMSN) and Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) programs. We are located at the St. Paul campus. In person and on-line modalities as well as principles of adult education are utilized in our programs. Our programs are endorsed in holistic nursing by the American Holistic Nurses Credentialing Corporation (AHNCC). We welcome diverse students faculty and staff from all backgrounds.

RN-BSN Program
The RN-BSN program is a competency-based curriculum that highlights health equity and holistic care by design in response to the needs of predominantly working adult nurses our desire to address equity holism and anti-racism and AACNs requirement for nursing programs across the country to meet new essentials for baccalaureate nursing preparation. Through an online part-time progression that supports student work and home/life balance students will engage in a curriculum that is sharply focused on critical analysis equipping graduates to address the pressing issues in nursing and healthcare.
Entry Level Master of Science (ELMSN) Program
The Entry Level Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) is a seven-semester program that provides the opportunity for individuals with a baccalaureate degree in a non-nursing discipline to learn the theoretical knowledge and applied skills necessary for the professional practice of nursing. Upon completion of this program graduates will be eligible to take the NCLEX-RN examination for licensure as a registered nurse. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (PBSN) Program
The Metro State University Prelicensure Bachelor of Science in Nursing program is a four-year undergraduate program that prepares graduates to provide holistic person-centered care to individuals families and communities from diverse backgrounds. This Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program is based on a set of core competencies that graduates learn through a variety of clinical experiences to adapt to changing healthcare needs and advance health equity through interdisciplinary collaboration civic engagement self-care and life-long learning. Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) The Doctor of Nursing Practice program (DNP) is for registered nurses with a Baccalaureate degree in nursing (SAN/BAN) or Entry level Masters degree in Nursing (ELMSN) who wish to expand their practice to include the Advanced Practice Registered Nursing (APRN) role of the Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP).
Doctor of Nursing Practice Nurse Anesthesia (DNP) - Graduates earn their Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree with a concentration in Nurse Anesthesia in this 78-credit program. Nurse Anesthesia DNP graduates are prepared to practice in a variant of settings and utilize diverse methods of administering safe anesthetics.
