FRENCH SECOND LANGUAGE(FSL) / ENGLISH TEACHER
Full-time (1.0 FTE) Term position
Sentinel Secondary School
Effective September 2 2025 until the return of the absent teacher
or June 30 2026
The annual salary for a full-time teaching position ranges from $59711 to $109520 with placement on the range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement. The salary will be prorated based on FTE.
Required Qualifications and Experience
A full-time French Second Language/English (1.0 FTE) position consisting of English 8 FSL 10 and FSL 11 is available at Sentinel Secondary School. This position replaces a teacher on leave. The successful candidate must have:
- Evidence of appropriate qualifications and experience in teaching French
- Evidence of appropriate qualifications and experience in teaching English
- Hold a valid BC Professional Teaching Certificate
- Commitment to and demonstrated experience using and integrating technology with the curriculum.
- Knowledge of the Ministry of education Prescribed Learning Outcomes (PLOs) and Integrated Resource Packages (IRPs) as well as providing evidence of the use of criterion referenced assessment and Performance Standards.
- Possess excellent communication skills with students staff and parents
- An ability to use a variety of teaching and learning strategies that can accommodate the learning needs of all types of learners.
- Knowledge and willingness to use Inquiry-based approach to planning and teaching
- A proven ability to develop a positive learning environment in the classroom and evidence of strong organization and classroom management skills.
- A commitment to and successful experience working collaboratively in a team setting.
