About this unit
The Nursing Impatient Rehab Unit practices with a Team Oriented spirit and approach to patient care. This is a unit in which no one practices alone as the Team is made up of a Multidisciplinary Team (including Physician Therapists Case Managers and Nurse Practitioner) working towards the same patient goals. Autonomy at all staff levels is practiced for self-scheduling committee participation unit decisions educational and conference participation is encouraged as well as helping work on special projects / events for staff during work and when out of work as well as for patients. Candidates must be willing to do on going education with patients and families / caregivers and feel comfortable assisting patients in sensitive and personal care situations. Rehab Staff are committed to safety and patient satisfaction with positive outcomes. Rehab staff enjoy their work and have longevity.

Scope of work
Provides care to the patient according to the plan of care unit routine and hospital policy under the direction of a Registered Nurse. Safe transport of patients via wheelchair or stretcher dispatch services and appropriate documentation of services. Provides the services of an Observer for any patient on a patient care unit who has been assessed to require constant observation either in person or via remote video monitoring to maximize his/her safety. Performs general receptionist and clerical duties to facilitate efficient functioning of the nursing unit. Documentation of care provided in the electronic medical record.
