Job Description
Job Title: Teacher Universal Pre-K
Department: Child Care
Location: Park Ridge Child Center
Hours Per Week: 40
Schedule:M - F 6:30AM - 3:00PM

SUMMARY:
Under the guidance of the Director Child Care Services implement a developmentally appropriate UPK classroom utilizing the Greece Central School District prekindergarten curriculum and assessments. Work as a team to implement daily learning activities and care using knowledge of the childrens social relations interests ideas and skills to tailor learning opportunities for groups and individuals. Develop strategies to maintain a safe and healthy environment. Position requires ability to supervise assistant teacher and volunteers and work collaboratively to develop an action plan for growth and success of the individual.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Creates an environment that supports childrens growth and development.
- Follows the UPK curriculum from the Greece Central School District to provide weekly plans which meet individual as well as group needs.
- Attends Greece Central School District professional development days.
- Attends Greece Central School District prekindergarten study group meetings.
- Maintains accurate individual records for each child and uses them to set goals for individual children.
- Establishes and achieves annual goals for classroom.
- Develops and maintains a positive relationship with all of the children and their families.
- Effectively guides childrens behavior in an age appropriate and positive manner.
- Conferences with parents effectively and appropriately.
- Supervises and guides assistant teachers and volunteers and makes appropriate recommendations for performance appraisals.
- Constructively participates in staff meetings and meetings with supervisor.
- Meets the physical social cognitive emotional and cultural needs of individual children.
- Attends a minimum of 15 hours of training every year.
- Communicates appropriately with families regarding childrens daily activities both verbally and written as needed.
- Ensures the safety of the children and promotes good health habits.
- Works with colleagues and community representatives to support children and families.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- NYS Teaching Certification (N-6 or Birth-2) OR commit to working towards certification
within five years of employment. - BS Early Childhood Education or Elementary Education or similar

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking standing or squatting.For disease specific care programs refer to the program specific requirements of the department for further specifications on experience and educational expectations including continuing education requirements.

PAY RANGE:
$19.00 - $26.00CITY:

The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components. Pay is determined by factors including experience relevant qualifications specialty internal equity location and contracts.
