Job Summary:
This position is for a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in a tertiary care hospitals medical-surgical unit. The LPN will provide nursing care under the supervision of an RN manage their own patient assignments and collaborate with the healthcare team. The role requires recent hospital experience and involves every-other-weekend work.

Responsibilities:
- Provide nursing care to patients in a medical-surgical setting under the direction of an RN.
- Manage own patient assignments.
- Gather and report patient data.
- Carry out physician orders and perform therapeutic procedures.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
- Participate in patient care planning and implementation.
- Document patient care accurately and completely.
- Adhere to hospital policies procedures and guidelines.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- Current LPN license in New York.
- Minimum of one year of inpatient medical-surgical nursing experience (preferred but not required).
- Current BLS certification.
- Ability to manage own patient assignments with RN support.
- Experience within the last two years in a hospital setting.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- Prior experience in emergency or critical care environments.
- Experience with vents tracheostomies and PICC lines.
- Two years of experience in direct patient care.
Special Considerations:
- Every other weekend work requirement.
- 12-hour shifts (day or night).
