Job Description
Job Title: Technical Specialist Senior
Location: Raleigh NC (Remote with occasional onsite; quarterly or during emergencies)
Interview Type: Webcam Only
Job Overview:
Seeking a senior GIS architecture professional with extensive experience in Esri technologies hybrid cloud/on-prem environments and Microsoft Azure. The candidate will lead the design deployment and modernization of GIS systems supporting state initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement scalable GIS architectures for ArcGIS Enterprise and ArcGIS Online in on-prem and Azure environments.
- Plan and execute hybrid deployments with secure networking (VPNs ExpressRoute federated identity).
- Collaborate with engineers to configure monitor and maintain GIS platforms.
- Support infrastructure provisioning and automation using PowerShell Azure DevOps ARM/BICEP or Terraform.
- Administer and troubleshoot ArcGIS components (Portal Server Data Store).
- Align application design with infrastructure architecture for high performance.
- Provide documentation UML models and technical diagrams for architecture planning.
- Participate in reviews enforce standards and ensure system readiness.
- Support GISU projects including Roads and Highways Spot Online NC CRIS and ATLAS.
Required Skills:
- 5 7 years with Esri technologies in enterprise environments
- Expertise in ArcGIS Enterprise ArcGIS Online and Esri Roads and Highways
- Strong understanding of GIS architecture patterns system integration and enterprise data flows
- Experience in ArcGIS administration infrastructure upgrades and patch management
- Familiarity with Windows Server IIS Active Directory LDAP Azure AD
- Hands-on with Azure: VMs App Services Azure SQL Storage RBAC Monitor
- Experience in hybrid integrations: VPNs secure networking identity federation
- Infrastructure-as-Code with PowerShell Azure CLI ARM/BICEP or Terraform
- Knowledge of enterprise/cloud security LDAP/SAML/Azure AD auth certificate management
- Skilled in technical documentation system diagrams architecture standards
- Strong communication collaboration and analytical skills
- Self-driven and effective in remote work environments
