Job Summary:
This role is for a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) in a short-term acute care teaching hospital. The CST will provide surgical support in various surgical specialties including orthopedics total joint/hip replacement neurology robotics thoracic and vascular surgery. A minimum of two years of experience is required.

Responsibilities:
- Preparing the operating room and surgical instruments.
- Assisting the surgical team during procedures.
- Maintaining sterile technique throughout the surgical procedure.
- Managing surgical equipment and supplies.
- Assisting with patient positioning and draping.
- Maintaining accurate records and documentation.
- Adhering to hospital policies and procedures.
- Collaborating with the surgical team to ensure patient safety and optimal surgical outcomes.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- Current Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification. (Exception for travelers with prior NY tech experience before 2015).
- Minimum of two years of experience as a CST.
- Experience in orthopedic total joint/hip replacement neurology robotics thoracic and vascular surgery.
- Proficiency in sterile techniques and surgical procedures.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- Experience with Epic charting system.
Special Considerations:
- Work in a short-term acute care teaching hospital.
- Shift work with varying schedules (9a-5:30p/11a-7:30p or 9a-7:30p/11a-9:30p) and flexibility required.
- Scrub color: Any combination of navy and white.
Scheduling:
- Rotating shifts (9a-5:30p/11a-7:30p or 9a-7:30p/11a-9:30p).
- Flexibility required to adjust shifts as needed.
