Job Description

Job Title: Senior Paralegal Specialist
Duration: 11 Months (Potential for Extension)
Location: Boston MA 02114 (Onsite)
Schedule: Monday Friday 8:00 AM 5:00 PM

Position Overview:

The Board of Registration in Nursing is seeking a Senior Paralegal Specialist to support its disciplinary and complaint resolution processes. In this full-time onsite temporary role you will collaborate with Complaint Resolution Coordinators to manage document and track case outcomes related to licensed nurses.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Draft and prepare consent agreements and related legal documents.

  • Compose professional correspondence using appropriate templates (e.g. dismissal letters).

  • Enter and update case-specific data involving dismissals and disciplinary actions.

  • Organize sort and analyze data using Microsoft Excel; create and manage spreadsheets for reporting.

  • Handle certified and registered mail with accurate tracking and timely follow-up.

  • Navigate proprietary software to extract and manage key information from multiple data sources.

  • Upload and maintain case files in a large document management system.

  • Transfer cases to prosecution teams and track any pending requirements.

  • Operate standard office equipment (copiers scanners fax machines printers).

  • Respond to emails and communications with professionalism and minimal supervision.

  • Maintain confidentiality and apply legal terminology correctly.

  • Perform general administrative and clerical tasks as needed.

Required Qualifications:
  • Work Arrangement: Must be available to work onsite in Boston MA five days a week.

  • Certification: Paralegal certification or Juris Doctor (JD) degree required.

  • Experience:

    • Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel Word Outlook).

    • Experience in setting up and maintaining electronic file systems.

  • Skills:

    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

    • Comfortable interacting with the public both in person and by phone.

    • Ability to learn new software quickly and work efficiently with large databases.

    • Detail-oriented and capable of managing multiple tasks while maintaining confidentiality.
