Job Description
Job Title: Cost Accountant
Location: Cleveland OH
Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Cost Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cost analysis inventory management and financial reporting. This role is vital to driving profitability by identifying cost-saving opportunities and supporting key financial decision-making processes through accurate and timely data.
Key Responsibilities:

Analyze cost structures and pricing strategies to identify areas for cost reduction and improved profitability.

Prepare and maintain standard cost reports and conduct product cost analyses.

Monitor inventory levels and assess cost variances regularly.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support budgeting and forecasting initiatives.

Record journal entries and ensure accurate allocation of direct labor overhead and manufacturing costs.

Assist in internal audits and ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal policies.
Required Qualifications:

Bachelors or Masters degree in Accounting Finance or a related field.

Minimum of 3 years of experience in cost accounting or a similar financial role.

Proficiency in ERP systems and accounting software (e.g. Microsoft Dynamics Jet Reports Excel).

Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

Excellent analytical problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Clear and effective written and verbal communication abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:

CPA or CMA certification.

Strong aptitude for mathematics and statistics.

Experience with large datasets and conducting in-depth financial analyses.
