As we continue to grow were looking for a strategic and hands-on Operations Manager to lead our freight forwarding operations and support our mission of moving freight with precision compliance and care.
Position Summary:
The Operations Manager will oversee day-to-day freight forwarding operations for both domestic and international shipments. This role is ideal for a logistics professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment has strong industry knowledge and is ready to lead a team focused on performance compliance and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the operations team responsible for import/export shipments via air ocean and domestic trucking.
- Ensure compliance with U.S. Customs TSA FMC and international trade regulations.
- Maintain high operational standards by monitoring KPIs and implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
- Coordinate with sales customer service and accounting teams to ensure timely and accurate processing of shipments and documentation.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with carriers global agents and vendors.
- Troubleshoot shipment issues resolve delays and manage escalations professionally and efficiently.
- Train and mentor staff to uphold company standards and enhance operational capabilities.
- Stay current with industry trends regulatory updates and freight market conditions.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of freight forwarding operations experience with strong exposure to both domestic and international shipping.
- In-depth knowledge of logistics documentation INCO terms HTS codes AES filings and compliance procedures.
- Strong leadership organizational and communication skills.
- Experience working with TMS/WMS systems and logistics platforms.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure.
- Familiarity with Dangerous Goods (DG) bonded cargo and customs brokerage processes preferred.
- Bachelors degree in Logistics Supply Chain or a related field is a plus.
