Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled CAD Manager / Lead CAD Designer with extensive experience in AutoCAD Revit and MicroStation. This role offers a unique opportunity to apply your drafting expertise at a specialized and growing engineering design firm. The ideal candidate will be a proactive leader with a strong technical foundation capable of overseeing production quality and guiding a team of CAD professionals across multiple projects.
Position Responsibilities:
Manage workload distribution and ensure high-quality deliverables from the CAD design team
Prepare detailed electrical and instrumentation drawings that align with client specifications and industry standards
Collaborate closely with the engineering team to ensure drawing accuracy and alignment with project goals
Support project development efforts using AutoCAD Revit and other design tools
Apply design and analysis expertise to produce clear thorough and compliant documentation
Actively communicate design concepts and project updates with technical teams and project managers
Participate in client meetings as needed to clarify requirements and review project milestones
Work effectively in a multidisciplinary team of engineers designers and project stakeholders
Provide regular status updates and feedback to engineering leads and project management
Desired Skills and Experience:
Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit: Deep understanding and hands-on experience with both applications is essential.
Autodesk Construction Cloud and ProjectWise: Demonstrated experience working within these platforms to manage project workflows and documentation.
Revit Dynamic Families: Experience creating and managing Dynamic Families in Revit is highly desirable.
Additional Software Proficiency: Familiarity with MicroStation and AGi32 is considered a plus.
Team Leadership: Proven experience managing a team of drafters across multiple projects ensuring quality and consistency in deliverables.
Electrical Design Background: Direct experience in electrical design is a significant advantage.
Extensive Drafting Experience: A minimum of 15 years of relevant drafting experience is required.
Collaborative Mindset: A proactive solution-oriented approach to challenges with a focus on team success.
Interpersonal Skills: Strong ability to foster and maintain professional cross-functional relationships.
