The Robert L. Frost Middle School in Lawrence Massachusetts seeks a Music Instructor for grades 5-8. The candidate must have MA Licensure in Music: Vocal/Instrumental/ professional classroom experience preferred but not FRM Music Appreciation instructor teaches general music to students in grades 5 through 8 including harmony appreciation history and ensemble. The teacher is encouraged to use a repertoire of all types of music literature including traditional and contemporary that are appropriate for the ages and skill levels of all students with the intent to provide opportunities for music ensembles. The music instructor will differentiate music curriculum to meet the needs of the individual student and that of the student body to plan a balanced music program and organize daily class time so that preparation rehearsal and instruction can be accomplished within the allotted time. The music teacher establishes and maintains standards of student behavior to provide an orderly productive environment during practice group rehearsals and music performances and communicates clearly with parents and school faculty/staff on the progress of individual students. The music teacher is responsible for the upkeep for school-owned music musical instruments and equipment to prevent loss or abuse and will work in cooperation with staff to provide musical programs for school assemblies open house parent meetings and seasonal REQUIREDMinimum BA in Music or Music EducationAbility to work with musicians at all skill levelsStrong instrumental skills including piano accompanimentApplicants must have experience with the following:Developing lesson plans and instructional materials for music students the fundamentals of music theory and music appreciation including rhythm harmony and students on how to sing or play musical to students perform and providing constructive students for musical performances examinations and/or auditions.
