Job Description

Director of Clinical Integrity - Shoreview
The Director of Clinical Integrity reports to the Chief Medical Officer and is responsible for ensuring the highest standards of clinical quality regulatory compliance and ethical practices within the clinical department of Life Link III. This leadership role oversees clinical quality assurance work and develops policies and training programs in collaboration with the education team. The Director of Clinical Integrity ensures continuous compliance with regulatory bodies facilitates project management support for clinical initiatives and acts as a liaison between clinical education and clinical operations to ensure educational initiatives are effective and new workflows are implemented safely. The role collaborates with stakeholders to maintain excellence in patient care. The Director of Clinical Integrity will embrace and live out Life Link IIIs mission and values.
This hybrid position is based at our Shoreview MN administrative offices.
Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Quality & Compliance
  • Develops implements and oversees clinical policies procedures and guidelines to ensure compliance with federal state and industry regulations.
  • Assists with developing and revising clinical guidelines in collaboration with the Regional Clinical Managers Clinical Educators and Medical Directors.
  • Oversee point-of-care testing and ensures Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA)requirements are met. Coordinates efforts with Hennepin County Medical Center (HCMC) point-of-care lab staff.
  • Maintains records required to maintain CLIA moderate-complex certificate.
  • Monitors and evaluates patient care standards conducting regular audits and quality assessments to maintain clinical excellence.
  • Collaborates with accreditation agencies (e.g. CAMTS) to maintain compliance with standards.
  • Manages the clinical policy and procedure platform to ensure accessibility version control and alignment with current standards of care.
  • Analyzes clinical quality metrics and service outcomes to identify trends gaps and areas for improvement.
Training & Professional Development
  • Collaborates with clinical education to develop objectives and support training programs for flight clinicians to enhance competencies and ensure best practices.
  • Works with clinical education to facilitate continuing education initiatives necessary to maintain compliance with regulatory bodies.
  • Collaborates with the education team to ensure that clinical orientation programs for new hires and professional development pathways achieve the standards and expectations as approved by the Chief Medical Officer.
Risk Management & Patient Safety
  • Investigates clinical incidents near misses and adverse events working with the other clinical teams to implement corrective actions as necessary.
  • Oversees the Clinical Safety Action Program (CSAP) to promote a culture of transparency accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Serves as a liaison for the clinical peer review committee ensuring adherence to medical and ethical standards as well as a Just Culture framework.
  • Identifies assesses and mitigates potential compliance and safety risks by developing and implementing proactive and preventative actions.
Leadership & Collaboration
  • Provides strategic oversight and guidance for clinical integrity and quality improvement initiatives within the organization.
  • Fosters collaboration among medical crews operations teams and external healthcare partners to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Represents Life Link III in industry forums conferences and regulatory discussions to advocate for best practices and innovation in air medical transport.
  • Coordinates clinical research activities within Life Link III and externally with other partners.
  • Promotes a culture of ethical conduct and decision-making
Data Integrity
  • Ensures the accuracy completeness and reliability of clinical data through quality control measures and data validation processes.
  • Utilizes data-driven approaches to monitor performance identify trends and implement improvement initiatives.
Documentation
  • Maintains develops and implements policies and procedures to ensure the organization provides a practical and well-coordinated clinical documentation integrity program maintaining compliance with regulatory bodies and agencies such as CMS and CAMTS.
  • Ensures proper documentation of all aspects of patient care treatment and safety meets regulatory requirements and supports clinical quality assurance efforts.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree in Nursing Paramedicine or a related healthcare field
  • Must have current and unlimited practice License/Certification in Nursing or in Paramedicine in Minnesota Wisconsin North Dakota and Michigan (within 90 days of hire)
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive leadership experience in air medical transport emergency medicine or critical care
  • CFRN FP-C or CCP-C certification (within 18 months of hire)
  • Extensive understanding of regulatory agencies (FAA CMS CAMTS HIPAA) aviation medical transport operations and healthcare best practices
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Experience in developing and implementing quality assurance programs and conducting audits
  • Excellent communication skills for collaborating with medical staff regulatory bodies and other key stakeholders
  • Ability to identify and address complex issues related to clinical quality and compliance and practice
  • Ability to organize and prioritize workload and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously
  • Strong leadership and communication skills with a focus on ethics compliance and clinical excellence
  • Proficient in systems such as Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to communicate effectively with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Embrace changes in technology processes and practices encouraging creative ways to enhance quality safety and delivery of care
  • Collaborate with partners from other air medical transport organizations hospitals industry leaders and regulatory agencies to promote continuous improvement and remain at the forefront of advancing patient care outcomes
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Masters or higher degree preferred in nursing healthcare leadership public health quality improvement data analytics or related healthcare field
  • Experience and/or certification with a change management system such as Lean Six Sigma etc.
  • Experience conducting healthcare-related research
  • 3-5 years of healthcare-related education experience
