Summary
The role of a People Partner is to provide HR payroll and benefits support to our employees. The HR department will depend on this role in a number of important functions such as staffing compensation and benefits training and development.
Essential Functions
- Administering compensation and benefit plans
- Assisting in talent acquisition and recruitment processes
- Process/Administer job changes in HRIS for proper approvals
- Conducting employee onboarding
- Provide support to employees in various HR related topics such as leaves compensation etc. and resolve issues and problems
- Promote HR programs to create an efficient and conflict-free workplace (employee engagement)
- Identify ways to improve policies and procedures
- Maintain employee files and records in electronic and paper form
- Acts as liaison between employee and management to answer questions or concerns regarding company policies practices and regulations
- Act as a point of contact to identify any challenges or delays in the process and highlight these to HR management so they can communicate to managers
- Develops and maintains strong working relationships with employees and managers
- Process verify and maintain documentation relating to HR activities such as staffing training and performance evaluations.
- Provide high-quality advice and service to management on daily employee relations and performance management issues
- Cross-train and mentor teammates
- Support the HR department in implementing programs to help improve the employee experience (i.e. Wellness Rewards etc.)
- Partner with Management to address Employee Relations and Performance Management concerns
- Responds promptly to requests and issues from new hires that do not require escalation
- Monitor the Human Resources inbox and respond to employee inquiries or forward to the appropriate HR team member for assistance. Copy the HR Manager on all escalated issues
- Assist with general leave of absence inquiries
- Assists with special projects.
- Assist with compliance reporting and annual audits (401k payroll Workers Compensation etc.)
- Run various reports for Management and Accounting using HRIS
- Assist with completed Verifications of Employment (VOEs) and Unemployment Claims
- Conduct Exit Interviews and provide highlights to HR Leadership
Qualifications
- Understanding of general human resources policies and procedures
- General knowledge of employment/labor/benefits administration laws
- Outstanding knowledge of MS Office; HRIS system
- Excellent communication and people skills
- Desire to work as a team with a results-driven approach
- Customer-focused attitude with a high level of professionalism and discretion
- Exceptional problem resolution attention to detail project management follow-through multi-tasking and prioritizing skills
- Provide exceptional service both internally and externally in-person via phone and in writing
Education and Formal Training
- Bachelors degree or equivalent experience
Physical Demands
This is largely a sedentary role; however some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary. While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to communicate with employees vendors and business partners in person over the phone and via email. The role requires constantly operating a computer and other office productivity machinery such as a computer calculator phone copy machine and printer. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision distance vision color vision depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
