You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailCoordinate the educational outreach and recruitment of students for the School of Polymer Science and Polymer Engineering.
30 - 50% Visiting High Schools and Middle Schools for outreach coordination to introduce the polymer field to students and assist with undergraduate recruitment for the polymer sciences. Coordinate faculty visits to Middle and High Schools and coordinate graduate student recruitment events.
10 - 20% Conduct exit surveys and act as a contact for alumni.
10 - 20% Organize Summer Camps
10 - 20% Organize graduate student recruitment events and orientation
10 - 30% Coordinate overall recruitment for SPSPE
Education:
Bachelors degree or higher in STEM or education related field.
Licenses/Certifications/Requirements:
None.
Experience:
Requires 2 years of experience coordinating outreach events with K-12 schools or in the field of Polymers.Strong communication and organizational skills.
Leadership:
Organizing events polymer-related camps and coordinating School efforts to
ward presentations/visiting high school/middle school
Physical Requirements:
Some physical exertion required involving bending lifting 30 lb. of materials
standing and walking.
Working Conditions:
Standard working environment with possible minor inconveniences due to occasional noise crowded working conditions in a school classroom and/or minor heating/cooling or ventilation problems. A lot of use (>70% of the time) of a video display terminal.
