Job Description

Maryhurst provides treatment programs for severely traumatized children who most often are victims of sexual physical and/or emotional abuse. Children in our care turn to risk-taking behaviors to cope with their pain. These behaviors can include such actions as running away truancy suicidal gesturing delinquency and substance abuse. Their issues are further complicated by years of multiple placements in foster care and hospital settings. In fact prior to their involvement with Maryhurst any one of our children is likely to have experienced an average of 20 out-of-home placements. We work hard to provide consistency structure and love for children. It is because of this philosophy and the hard work of staff and volunteers that our programs are successful. Today Maryhurst provides nine different programs that address the unique needs of more than 600 children and their families.


Maryhurst is seeking an Accounts Payable Coordinator. This position will perform tasks related to the accounts payable within our agency to ensure proper payment to our vendors and employees. Duties will include reviewing and processing invoices preparing payments tracking expense reports and other duties as assigned.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


Manage the accounts payable cycle from start to finish:

  • Validate invoices
  • Obtain necessary approvals
  • Determine correct department/program general ledger coding
  • Process check and/or ACH payments

Provide general accounting support including the reconciliation of applicable GL accounts

Assist with financial statement analysis

Participate in annual audit and budget processes



Requirements


  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting Business Administration or closely related field preferred OR High School Diploma with equivalent experience
  • Full-Time work experience in similar role
  • Familiar with accounting software (knowledge of Sage Intacct is preferred)
  • Ability to maintain well organized records and supporting documentation
  • Detail oriented with analytical mindset
  • Ability to set goals manage time and meet deadlines
  • Knowledge of generally accepting accounting principles
