Job Description

What is the Early Childhood Coordinator role Serving as a key team member in the implementation and maintenance of a positive safe inclusive and supportive school culture the Early Childhood Coordinator is instrumental in implementing a continuum of positive behavior support for early childhood students in classrooms and non-classroom settings (hallways recess etc.) enhancing the capacity of the school community by improving the connection between positive practices and teaching and learning. Key Qualities of the Early Childhood Coordinator: You are committed to cultivating culturally responsive and restorative practicesYou believe in the importance of developing social emotional skills that increase intra-personal understanding and self-regulation as a means to motivating students in a positive direction to increase their individual decision making responsibilitiesYou believe that caring about students but also having high expectations for them is paramount to student learning and achievementYou are committed to cultivating the social emotional wellbeing of all our early childhood students both in and out of the classroom and in the after school programYou will thrive in a community where there is open honest communication accountability effort respect joy and a genuine love of GodYou maintain communication and positive relationships with early childhood families effectively as the face of the early childhood program providing parents with support and monthly activities You run the after school program for our early childhood and other students collaborating with those teachers who run clubs and who tutor ensuring that student needs are met staffing is covered and that students are in a warm welcoming environmentRole and Responsibilities of the Early Childhood Coordinator: Interviews prospective students using the ASQ 3 and the ASQ SE places students in classrooms observes students and makes recommendations to families provides behavioral support to classroom teachers and engages parents in their childs developmental progressCollaborates with the Dean of Students to develop implement and monitor a plan that includes routines and expectations for early childhood students in and outside of the classroomTracks and monitors student discipline dataCreates inclusive environments that honor and support a diversity of backgrounds and perspectivesModels the core values of the school: Respect Integrity Safety EmpathyIs highly present and visible during work hours and in the after school program to ensure a positive school climate and environmentProvide interventions to students with personal and social development needs impeding positive behavioral outcomes working with teachers and parentsAssists the Principal Dean of Students School Counselor Nurse and others to ensure students receive behavioral interventionsAttends and participates in staff and other school activities and meetings as appropriateMaintains communication systems with families to ensure consistent and transparent information sharing Manages the after school program including staffing activities and events ensuring that ratios are met and students are managed with love and careManages early childhood compliance with EEC regulationsQualifications of the Early Childhood Coordinator: 3 years of experience working in Early Childhood in a leadership position Bachelors DegreeBilingual (English/Spanish)Willing to work 10am-6pm Monday-FridayReports directly to the Principal
