Responsible for incorporating the Reggio Emilia Philosophy in Chicago Commons educational programming assisting with planning and facilitating professional development opportunities. The primary focus of this role is centered on explorations studies emergent curriculum and the image of the child. Must be able to travel to various Chicago Commons locations.

Our teachers aim to empower children to explore and learn in a unique environment that encourages childs critical thinking and creativity. Our early childhood program serves as the backbone for many at-risk Chicago communities including West Humboldt Park Pilsen Bronzeville and New City/Back of the Yards. High rates of poverty and limited educational and economic resources impact these neighborhoods.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelors Degree (B.A.) in Fine Arts or related degree with 3 years of Art Education experience OR Bachelors Degree (B.A.) in Early Childhood/Elementary Education with 3 years of Art Education experience.
TECHNICAL SKILLS:
While performing the duties of this job the employee must be able to read and write English proficiently. Spanish fluency is a plus. Candidates must regularly operate a word-processing system and therefore must be able to read produce and transmit data on such a system. Candidates must be comfortable using digital platforms to create printed materials for program use.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Candidates must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds and are frequently required to stand walk reach with hands and arms and stoop kneel crouch or crawl.
