The University of Nevada Las Vegas invites applications for Executive Director Financial Services Support R0148189

ROLE of the POSITION

In a highly complex and constantly changing backdrop the University Controller and Financial Services unit is responsible for creating an environment which promotes innovative and sound business policies and practices that balance controls compliance and customer service. The unit consists of approximately 70 staff members responsible for a broad range of financial activities including student accounts financial & capital accounting financial reporting procurement accounts payable and payroll.

The Executive Director provides high-level support to the Associate Vice President/Controller by managing a variety of short and long-term special projects and coordinating all phases and aspects of project activities. Includes gathering research performing complex and detailed analysis preparing reports and communicating results to AVP and management identifying problems recommending appropriate action and implementing solutions to facilitate overall service improvement to campus.

This position is also responsible for managing the budget financial administrative and human resources functions in support of the University Controller and Financial Services unit. Includesoverseeing the annual budget preparation process preparing budget presentations unit statistics and financials as part of the units annual report and overseeing and coordinating unit activity related to processing financial and human resources transactions.

The Executive Director supervises Systems and Operational Analyst staff and coordinates these resources in areas such as prioritizing and developing operational reports evaluating functional unit needs and system gaps evaluating emerging technologies including semi-annual Workday releases and providing central support for financial services process improvement initiatives and system administration as new technologies are implemented.

An important duty of this position is leading the units campus communication and coordination efforts which includes the presentation of the monthly Campus Operations Meeting collaborating with NSHE Business Analysts and unit personnel to facilitate the communication of the fiscal year end processes with the campus community. And acting as a resource and subject matter expert in the Universitys ERP Workday.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

This position requires either aBachelors degreein Business Administration Accounting Computer Science or Finance from an accredited college or university as recognized by the United States Department of Education and/or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and a minimum of 5-7 years of experience. OR In lieu of a degree applicants with an additional 5-7 years of relevant experience may be considered.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5-7 years NSHE experience

  • Experience as NSHE campus business manager

  • Workday experience

  • Data Analytics Experience

SALARY

Salary range is $130000 to $150000 or commensurate with the labor market.
