QUALIFICATIONS:
- Requirements for this position as required by the Department of Education and the State of South Dakota.
- High school diploma or equivalent; associates degree in a relevant field preferred.
- Proven experience in administrative roles preferably in an educational setting.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications.
- Customer service-oriented with a friendly and professional demeanor.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Knowledge of educational systems policies and procedures is a plus.
- Familiarity with data management and recordkeeping practices.
- Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities and tasks.
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
- Under the supervision of the building principal assist in the daily functions of a school building.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Front Desk Operations: Greet visitors parents and students in a welcoming and professional manner. Handle inquiries direct phone calls and provide general information about the school.
- Student Records Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date student records including enrollment attendance grades and personal information within Infinite Campus
- Communication Liaison: Facilitate effective communication among staff students parents and external parties. Distribute announcements newsletters and other relevant materials within the District website.
- Scheduling and Calendar Management: Coordinate schedules for school events meetings parent-teacher conferences and other activities. Manage the school calendar and ensure timely updates.
- Administrative Support: Assist administrative staff and school leadership in various tasks including preparing reports presentations and correspondence. Coordinate logistical arrangements for meetings and events.
- Enrollment and Admissions: Support the admissions process by assisting with inquiries providing application materials scheduling tours and maintaining accurate enrollment records.
- Health and Safety Compliance: Maintain records related to health and safety regulations emergency procedures and student medical information. Coordinate with relevant personnel to ensure a secure and healthy school environment which includes but is not limited to monitoring secure entrances and tracking visitors.
- Inventory and Supplies Management: Monitor and maintain inventory levels of office supplies textbooks and other materials. Place orders as needed and ensure proper distribution.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the building principal.
Terms of Employment:
- 188-day contract. Salary and benefits will be aligned with the terms outlined in the classified section of the staff handbook.
Evaluation:
Reports to and are evaluated by the building principal.
