Position Summary
Career Readiness Learning Objectives: Communication: The Graduate Assistant will clearly and effectively communicate with supervisor faculty and students. Professionalism: The GA will maintain a professional demeanor when interacting individuals across the department. Critical Thinking: The GA will seek guidance as necessary from the Pre-Health Advisor related to assigned projects. Equity & Inclusion: The GA will interact with all staff and students in a way that is inclusive and equitable to all entering the Deans Office. Leadership: The GA will apply personal strengths to achieve organizational goals. Teamwork: The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the Pre-Health Advisor will build and maintain relationships with faculty members staff and students to achieve the common goals of the program while respecting each others viewpoints and shared responsibilities. Technology : The successful candidate will understand and use technology to complete tasks and accomplish goals. The Graduate Assistant for the Pre-Health Advising Program will be assisting the Pre-Health Advisor. At times this position may assist department administrators or faculty within the college as needed or upon request on special projects. Duties may include but are not limited to general office work (e.g. filing printing scanning campus deliveries organization inventory) general research (e.g. best practices and programs comparison and review of peer institutions research new ideas/concepts etc.) assistance with social media to support new student recruitment or any special projects associated with the program. T As a student representative of Gannon University and the Deans Office the utmost professionalism and integrity is expected at all times.
Physical Demands
1) May be asked to lift up to 30-50 pounds. 3) May be asked to transport items across campus multiple times per shift.
Required Qualifications
1) Cumulative GPA 3.5 or higher 2) Strong verbal and written communication skills 3) Highly organized and disciplined 4) Attentive to details 5) Self-directed independent and takes initiative 6) Proficient in use of Microsoft Office and Excel 7) Reliable honest; must be in good academic standing with no prior academic integrity violations; required to adhere to strict confidentiality policies
Preferred Qualifications
1) Cumulative GPA 3.8 or higher
