Job Description

Salary Information

Compensation plans are based on a multi-step progression system. The pay range reflects the entry level and maximum salary potential in the assigned pay grade.

**A starting salary may be negotiated and will be commensurate with education training and experience in alignment with pay administration policies and Montgomery Personnel Board Rules & Regulations**

Nature of Work

The fundamental reason thisclassification exists is to perform participatory recreation work. Employees oversee the use of a recreationfacility to include maintenance scheduling and documenting/reporting. Theprimary work responsibilities of this position are: performs reporting duties; monitorsthe facility; performs administrative duties; serves as a liaison between theschools principal; oversees recreation programs and activities in thefacility; completes department forms reports and records; completes reportsfor federally funded summer food service programs; plansand schedules seasonal programs by estimation; actively leads recreationprograms as needed; oversees/supervises rec aides and volunteers; and designsflyers brochures and calendars of events. The employee reports directly to the Recreation AreaSupervisor.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED and two (2) yearsof experience overseeing facilities and leading recreational programs.

NOTE: Qualifying educationtraining and experience that provide the requisite knowledge skills andabilities to perform the job will be considered.

Kind of Examination

Applications are being accepted to fill any vacancies that may occur during the life of the register. The current vacancies are with theCity of Montgomery Parks and Recreation Department. Applicants will be screened and qualified based upon education and experience as shown on the application and attached supplemental questionnaire. Tied scores will not be broken. If there is less than the number of required qualified applications received they will be considered equally qualified and placed on the register in alphabetical order.
