Upper and Middle School Visual Arts Teacher
Fort Worth Christian School a Christ-centered college preparatory school is seeking a passionate and qualified Upper School Art Teacher to join our faculty. The ideal candidate will be a committed Christian educator who is enthusiastic about cultivating students creative talents while integrating a Biblical worldview into the visual arts and equipping students for a life of faith service and leadership for Christ.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver instruction in visual arts (drawing painting sculpture digital media etc.).
- Develop a curriculum that fosters creativity technical skill and art appreciation while reflecting Christian values.
- Introduce material and methods to develop relevant assignments and lesson plans that guide and challenge students.
- Encourage students to think creatively independently and to express original ideas
- Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback support or extra resources
- Maintain art supplies equipment and safe studio practices.
- Organize student exhibitions art shows and community art projects.
- Collaborate with colleagues on interdisciplinary projects.
- Communicate with parents students teachers and counselors regarding student performance
- Use technology for lesson delivery assignment postings and record keeping
- Establish and maintain standards of student behavior needed to provide an orderly productive classroom environment
Qualifications
- Demonstrate a strong Christian testimony and be a member of a Bible-believing church
- Committed to living and teaching a life of service to Christ in accordance with the FWC Statement of Faith and Beliefs.
- Exemplify a positive Christian role model to our students and pursue Christ-like behavior
- Have the ability to inspire students and foster a love for artistic expression.
- Pursue knowledge of current trends developments and new technologies as they relate to teaching Visual Art at the secondary level
- Have a bachelors degree from an accredited college or university along with demonstrated excellence in all academic pursuits
- Have the ability to work cooperatively with all members of the staff and communicate effectively with parents.
- Prior teaching experience at the high school level is strongly preferred along with an understanding of establishing positive and encouraging relationships with high school students.
